Falling is dangerous.

Even a mild hearing loss has been found to increase the risk of falling by three times than those who don't have hearing loss.

Dr. Lin at Johns Hopkins has stated:  "Gait and balance are things most people take for granted, but they are actually very cognitively demanding.  If hearing loss imposes a cognitive load, there may be fewer cognitive resources to help with maintaining balance and gait."
